JCPP Advances will launch in November 2020, with its first issue in Spring 2021.
It is a new, high quality, high impact open access journal in the field of child psychology and psychiatry and related disciplines. It builds on the values and prestige of its sister publication, the Journal of Child Psychology and Psychiatry, to advance the field by opening new opportunities for diverse researchers and for the dissemination of innovative science.
It has a commitment to open science, rapid publication and creating a high-quality publishing experience for authors. It aims to promote ground-breaking research, new theoretical perspectives and methodological innovation.
JCPP Advances has a broad remit covering all areas of infant, child and adolescent and early adult development as these relate to mental health and disorder and developmental psychopathology, broadly defined.
It will publish empirical studies and reviews encompassing wide-ranging methodological traditions, including, but not limited to, epidemiology and longitudinal cohorts, experimental psychology, neuroscience, genetics and intervention trials.
Unique features of the journal
Being an open science journal, we aim to proactively experiment with and explore new approaches to publication and research such as CRediT, mandating ORCiD, requiring data availability statements, offering open science badges and other initiatives. In time, we will be delighted to consider Registered Reports.
JCPP Advances operates a fast manuscript transfer system from its sister publication. We make it easier for authors to submit their work through format free submission. For many we provide easy access to institutional open access funds.
We are charting our growth and progress by quality indicators of citation, Impact Factor and indexing on citation databases.
JCPP Advances adopts the continuous publication format and publishes six issues per annual volume.
